BluOS

The setup of the speakers is done first using the BluOS app on the smartphone, tablet or PC. Then the connected devices are automatically recognized. Each device is assigned its own ID, starting at 100. If a device is removed, the ID will remain reserved in the background.

Functionality

All devices are regularly searched for via MDNS (Multicast). A constant connection to the speakers is established. If a device contains more than one amplifier, each channel is created separately. Each status is thus sent to the server in real time. If a speaker can no longer be found, it is automatically deleted.

Note: If a group controller is offline, the status will not be updated and commands may be ignored.

Manual Capture

Since some network installations can cause problems, there is the option to manually capture the IP addresses. This is usually not necessary. The addresses must be fixed by the DHCP server. Once an IP address has been entered, MDNS is no longer used. It is possible to define the port; if no port is specified, the default port is used. A zone amplifier can have multiple ports. Here are some examples:

Player Port
Standard 11'000
CI580 Zone 1 11'000
CI580 Zone 2 11'010
CI580 Zone 3 11'020
CI580 Zone 4 11'030

Note: Please note that the interface may be blocked if an IP address is not reachable. This can lead to unexpected results.

Create Channels

In the device structure, channels can be created. For these to be created, various prerequisites must be met.

Types Prerequisite
Speakers The speaker must be visible in the structure.

Variables

Variable Values Description
play TRUE/FALSE Play/Pause
next TRUE Next
perv TRUE Back
repeat TRUE/FALSE Repeat All
shuffle TRUE/FALSE Random Playback
volume 0..100 Volume
mute TRUE/FALSE Mute
source URI URI of the current source
seek 0..# Seek in the track in milliseconds
duration 0..# Duration of the track in milliseconds
infotext Multi-line info text
cover_url URL URL to the album cover

Use BluOS Graphics

There is the option to directly use graphics from BluOS. For this purpose, the value must be transferred to the image visualization element.

Graphic Value
BluOS Logo "_bluos_logo"

Template

The following template can be used to communicate with a room. The template has the following functions:

  • Selection of various radio sources with autoplay.
  • Volume display is shown as an attenuation value.
  • Seek in the track if available.
  • BluOS logo is used when the room is not in use.
  • International translation.
  • Compatible with the channels.

It should be noted that various settings need to be made. These are usually as follows:

  • Sources can be stored. The tab Sources must first be activated by setting the value hidden to false.
