Automatic Installation (Batch Mode)

WARNING: Please read the following chapter carefully before starting the procedure described below.

Antcas Server Setup supports an automatic installation routine. This is configured in the bootloader configuration. The setup supports both Legacy and UEFI boot modes. However, after installation, the servers will only boot in UEFI mode. Therefore, the configuration is only set up in the EFI bootloader.

WARNING: When using this mode, all data will be overwritten without confirmation. Always ensure that the USB stick does not remain inserted when booting your computer. For safety, it is recommended to disable the bootloader timeout or use the first option without batch mode.

It is possible to define the image to be used using batchmode=Image@kernel. The image is the folder name in the directory setup, and the kernel is the folder name in the image directory under kernel. Without specifying the kernel, the default kernel default will always be used. If only the term batchmode is specified with more than one image or an invalid image, input must be provided before installation. This also applies if more than one built-in hard drive has been detected.

batchmode=Core_2
batchmode=Core_2@5.4.0-150-generic

After installation using batch mode, the system will automatically restart. Wait until the server is completely reset. It may display several error messages and then restart a few times. This behavior is normal.
