Proxy and Alternative Routes

If an external proxy server is used, it must be entered in the alternative routes. This allows opening the visualization via this host. For this rule, only the hostname and the port used are relevant.

If the visualization is blocked, the error message 421 Misdirected Request appears. This status code was deliberately chosen to clearly distinguish the block from a general access denial such as 403 Forbidden. The blocked hostname is displayed and can be copied directly if required and added under alternative routes.

Configuration

The configuration is done in the Project Management under Alternative Routes. The route is entered as a complete address. The path is optional for the rule but is considered when opening the visualization from Antcas Control.

Note: Access via IP address is also prevented. This allows poorly configured proxies or proxies with malicious intent to be detected and blocked. Although it is possible to explicitly allow an IP address, this is not recommended for security reasons. The hostname cannot be explicitly validated for connections without HTTPS.
