VKF-Hail Protection

The interface communicates via HTTPS with the online service VKF-Hail Protection and replaces a physical hail protection box.

To use the interface, it must be activated at VKF. The hardware ID hwtypeId is set to 40. This must be communicated with the MAC address when registering for the service.

The MAC address can be any of the communicating server. However, no user-specific MAC address can be provided.

Operation

The interface communicates directly over the Internet with the VKF Meteorological Center. Alarms are retrieved every 2 minutes. Nothing further needs to be configured for the interface.

When a test alarm is triggered, the variables alarm and testalarm are true as long as it is active.

Registering with VKF

To install and operate the hail protection, please fill out the form Order Installation Hail Protection (Download) and send it signed (Word and PDF) to: hagelschutz@vkg.ch. You help us by sending both Word and PDF to continue offering the service for free.

The procedure is as follows:

  1. VKF records the provided data along with the MAC address on the hail protection system page.
  2. You will then receive further information and access authorization to our hail protection system page.
  3. Perform the function check and activation of the alarm chain.
  4. For quality control, please send us the acceptance protocol after successful completion (will be provided in due time).

Variable Description
alarm [bool] Hail alarm or test alarm detected.
testalarm [bool] A test alarm is active.
time [datetime] Last reception of weather data.
offline [bool] The interface is offline.

Note: The variable time is not displayed in the monitor.
