Range Templates

The Range Templates simplify the configuration of a larger project in which many objects repeat. For example, a hotel. Here, each room type can be set up as a template and then linked to the corresponding rooms. If the template is now adjusted, the changes affect all linked rooms.

Note: A separate License is required for Range Templates. Without this, none of the template interfaces can be used.

Prerequisites

To use Range Templates meaningfully, you must first check whether the following prerequisites are met:

• Each range must have a separate interface.
• Each range must have the same addresses.
• Each range can also have multiple interfaces.

Creating Templates

To create a template, you first need to create a template under the context menu Project ▸ Range Templates. The template is simultaneously a page for visualization. This can be used optionally.

Under the template, any structure can now be created, e.g., by room type. In the individual elements, an interface must be selected. However, this is only fictional and defines only the number of interfaces and their links.

Assigning Templates

To link a template, both windows Range Templates and Structure must be open. In addition, the Explorer in Structure must be in Edit Mode.

Then, a Page from the Range Templates is dragged onto a folder in the Structure. It does not matter whether other elements are already present in this folder. A template can exist alongside the usual elements.

Then, the Interface can be selected. For this purpose, at least one element must have an interface.

If you now open an element from the Structure, you can use the PLC Preview.
